With the fifth month of this 2,023rd year of the common era fully behind us, let’s take a look at some stuff I was feelin, and some other stuff I wasn’t.
Pros:
Boston sports taking L’s
Toward the end of April, the Florida Panthers (now Stanley Cup finals bound) eliminated the Boston Bruins in a Game 7 in Boston.
Toward the end of May, the Miami Heat (now NBA Finals bound) eliminated the Boston Celtics in a Game 7 in Boston.
Matter fact? The Bruins and the Celtics play in the same arena. South Florida teams went in there and sent Boston fans home sad twice in the span of a few weeks.
It might be worth noting that—despite my living in Miami-Dade County for the entirety of my adult life—I’m not actually a Florida Panthers fan (yet, at least. mostly because I haven’t gotten into hockey…yet) or a Miami Heat fan.
I just have an irrational, inexplicable hatred of all Boston sports teams. (Foxborough sports teams too. Don’t worry, Patriots. Not lettin’ y’all slide on no technicalities.) I love watching all of these teams lose in the most devastating ways possible. I still smile every time I think about the Helmet Catch. Not because I like the New York Giants. I don’t. I smile just because it sent the Patriots home sad.
