About Time to Build the Dream (Launch) Team
A quick update on the road to the Theologizin' Bigger
Every step of the process has been made easier by people like you. Were it not for you, I doubt I would have found the confidence to do this. Were it not for you, I don’t think publishers would’ve been checking for me. Were it not for you, I wouldn’t have been able to go to my community to help build a royalty structure that would more accurately reflect what authors like me bring to the table. You all haven’t let me down yet.
The Son Do Move is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
And that’s why I’m so excited about this next ask/opportunity.
It’s time to build a launch team. You see, nowadays most books aren’t bought in physical bookstores. That’s one of the reasons a traditional publishing house and the contracts they tend to offer didn’t make much sense for me. They’re counting on me being able to connect with you all on my own. Because it’s word of mouth that sells books. And I’ll be honest… I think I wrote a pretty decent book. But you don’t have to take my word for it. You can check out what some other people are saying about it:
“Trey is not only pushing us toward bigger theologies that can hold the totality of who we are. He is calling for us to embrace better theologies—theologies that fully honor our humanity and the God who fashioned us as good creation. And we are the better for it.”
“Prophets are rare in our culture and poets are needed in this challenging contemporary moment. Trey Ferguson is a poet and a prophet for such a time as this. ”
—Otis Moss, III, Pastor, Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago, and author of Dancing in the Darkness
“It’s a tall order, but I want four things in a book: brilliant writing, an education, laugh-out-loud humor, and inspiration to be a better human. In Theologizin’ Bigger, Trey delivers on all four counts and then some. This book blew my mind, then my heart and soul. I’ll read every word this man writes.”
“In his powerful debut, Trey Ferguson reminds us of the liberation that can be found when we value the art of speculation; when we allow God to be bigger than we can fully capture; and most of all, when we bring our true, full selves to the theological table. With honesty, wit, and creativity, Theologizin’ Bigger is an invitation to revive our imaginations so that we may walk into the way of salvation—into the healing process of rehumanization.”
But maybe you still have some questions and you wanna see for yourself. And that’s where the launch team comes in. The launch team gets to read the book before it drops. BUT that comes with some asks. Here’s how this would look:
You pre-order the book (and it should be available to pre-order with all retailers within the next couple of weeks!)
We send you an early access copy electronically. You read that joint.
You recommend the heck outta that book! On social media (we even made the cover super pretty for you). In person. In church. In seminary or school. The moment you can, you ask your local library
Leave a review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads—wherever! Let people know that this is the greatest book on constructive theology that Trey Ferguson has ever written!!!
In return for being the dopest launch team members in the history of the world, I’m working on building a Facebook group for those who still hang out in that place, AND I’ll have a free devotional download for everyone who submits proof of preorder. Plus, I’m working on a virtual launch party, because I really like hanging out with y’all.
With all of that said, the space on the launch team will be limited. If you’d like to do me the honor of playing on this team, let us know by filling out the form at www.pastortrey05.com/launchteam.
This is gonna be dope.
